Rules of Engagement: Respecting Intellectual Labor
Fine Line Project (FLP) is an independent, free, and open research space dedicated to exploring the structural dynamics of the cultural industry. Disseminating these concepts is the core purpose of this publication. However, a zero-dollar price tag is not a synonym for the absence of copyright, nor is it an invitation to misappropriation.
All articles, essays, analyses, and theoretical frameworks published on this Substack are the original intellectual property of the author (Rossella). Reading, debating, and sharing are warmly encouraged; intellectual theft is not.
1. The Golden Rule of Citation (No “Free Riding”)
Digging into corporate balance sheets, dissecting social architectures, and deconstructing the superstructures of pop music demands time, rigorous research, and academic stamina.
If you discover an intuition, a theory, or a passage within my articles that you find illuminating and wish to deploy it in your own Substack pieces, journalistic articles, podcasts, or videos, you are strictly required to explicitly cite the source and include a direct link to the original FLP essay.
Passing off the in-depth analyses read here as your own personal “morning epiphanies,” or extracting entire paragraphs while changing a couple of verbs to make them look like your own work, is a miserable practice of third-rate journalism that we fiercely condemn around here.
Intellectual honesty costs nothing: just cite the source.
2. Sharing and Dissemination
The “Restack,” forwarding direct links, and word-of-mouth are the engine that keeps FLP alive. You are completely free and highly encouraged to extract short snippets (strictly enclosed in quotation marks) to fuel debate on social platforms, provided that the reference to the author and to Fine Line Project is always unmistakable, highly visible, and clickable.
3. Prohibition of Commercial Use
It is strictly forbidden to replicate in full, plagiarize, or utilize my articles to manufacture monetized content (for instance, behind your own paywalls or as scripts for sponsored YouTube videos) without my explicit, prior written authorization.
In Summary: We dismantle the toxic superstructures of the entertainment industry together, but the sweat poured into these texts is mine. Treat FLP with the same rigor you would accord to a primary academic source. Those who copy without citing are not thinkers; they are passive translators. And around here, we expose them.
